Christmas Eve Email

Hey mom, this week has been crazy fast I can't believe it.  The house we are going to for Christmas has Skype? so I'll give you a call and try and figure things out if not I can just talk to you. Oh, Fritz and Sarah hooked me up and wrote me letters, Fritz made me cry, he reflected on the summer working and getting to know me.  Sarah sure enjoys working with you and thanks for mentioning the jelly to her, she said she'll send some my way.
Elder Hazleton with his trainer, Elder Young
Oh, I also have a knife now it's a small one but when I think of it from other missionaries bringing swards and all that plus it's not like I'm going to us it as a weapon. Oh, and I have been putting duct tape on my bike and it's been kinda fun. About the Mission Christmas party thing; I loved the project afterwards.  I worked in the rain.  I had a shovel and a wheel barrow and worked crazy hard. It's nice

I can't wait for tonight and tomorrow. One of the families(rich) I guess, has a big party for Christmas and New Years so that's where we are going for most of today, and the Bernners tomorrow (another rich family), and I guess we will be visiting the "toy shed" yeah I think I know what kind of toys they are talking about and the oldest kid, named Austin, is just like me… kinda like my Austin back at home.

Opposition in all things

Monday, December 10, 2012

I have been told to send mail to the mission office, like where the bike was sent:
Elder Calvin Craig Hazleton
California Roseville Mission
8583 Watt Ave
Antelope, CA 95843-9117

I'm going to list a few people I have talked to; a guy who drove the spirit away so far I felt empty.  He had a satanic bible and was trying to do a spell, and me and Elder Young left fast.  I have never felt that empty in my life.  Elder young said, "that goes to show there is opposition in all things"…and yes, it did.  I met Fera, she is from Iran.  She is the nicest lady.  She and one of her boys are getting baptized this month and maybe her other son.  She is going through a divorce and life is hard for her.  Trotta is the guy who lives next door. He brings us breakfast every now and then and lets us use his weights.  But, the coolest one, Bill, is the President of a biker gang and his best friend is the president of Hells Angels.  He said if anyone messes with us that he will take care of it.  The other day we walked over to say "hi" and he freaked out because he thought someone stole our bikes.  He has been very nice to us.

It's sad to hear about grandma and all of that.  I hope everyone is doing good.  Oh, and last night, I think at our dinner appointment, we talked more about Teina's mission than anything else; the mounds and all that history.  The guy showed us this video, it was cool

I love you mom, I'm doing good, I'm safe.  I'll be buying a cheap hoodie today because it gets a little chilly outside when we aren't in church clothing.  So I'm going to get a cheap hoodie and something for my ears.  Thank you so so much for the jelly.  I love it.  Have a good one mom.
